Write a Prayer-a-Day Project

Today is for motion and energy.  We see new horizons, we dream of what may await us beyond, and so we move.  But movement does not always mean traveling:  a nod, a shrug, a touch, a hug – all movement with purpose.  And movement with purpose will always bring us closer to Truth.  Even typing keys is movement with purpose.  May we today be present and aware of the smallest motions, and may we mindfully imbue them with purpose, that we may truly discover what lies beyond the next horizon.  For this Holy Motion we give thanks.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

Dream.  Imagine.  See new possibilities.  Imbue the world with Love, Peace, Tolerance, Understanding and Goodwill.  Keep the feeling in your heart, and then begin to act.  May this be our daily prayer; that by living into it, so shall it become.  For the promise of Heaven on Earth and salvation in this lifetime we are grateful.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

It is difficult for us to seek support, from others as well as from ourselves.  Assessing what is truly a need from what we desire calls for deep mindfulness.  We are bombarded by signals that tell us we need to be self-sufficient, that we need to buck-up and take personal responsibility.  Yet how do we responsibly fulfill ask for support?  What is the template by which we determine needs versus wants?  How do we check our egos in this endeavor?  The answers are not easily discerned, and yet the process remains at the core of our prayers.  We are thankful for support, and pray that it may be plentiful.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

May today find us calm and collected, settled in our minds and bodies.  May we recall how to relax in the midst of strife.  The world is a clamor, a cacophony, a constant din.  Punctuations of silence are blessings to be cherished.  May we  be the creators of peace and quite, not only for ourselves, but also for the edification of our sisters and brothers.  Practice peace that we may become better at it.  For our peaceful practice we give thanks.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

We gaze into the silent galactic canopy above us, and at once feel connected yet insignificant.  We encounter this duality so regularly that we take it for granted.  And yet the duality of existence has informed our thinking and our living since the time of our most distant ancestors.  It is the equal and opposite force at the core of our physics.  It is magnetic, and it is polar.  Even at a molecular level we are here and not here in equal measure.  Let us be reminded of the cosmic yin and yang whenever we face unbearable heartache and insurmountable challenges.  Let us take heart in unhappiness, which is transient and necessary, for without it happiness could not exist.  We are One, and We are Two.  One plus two equals Gratitude, our cosmic calculus.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

For all that we are,

For all that we aspire to be,

For all that we have done,

For all that we have failed to do,

For all that we have created,

For all that we have destroyed,

For all that we dream,

And for all that we fear,

May we atone, may we rejoice, may we forgive, and may we remember.  We are One, and We are All.  Our Name is Sacred, and We are Grateful.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

May we find ways today to put less pressure on ourselves to perform, and take greater delight purely in the act of creation.  Success is strictly relative and fleeting.  We persist, regardless of outcomes.  Our best efforts are always a worthy aspiration, but the joy must come in the trying, and we are called to enjoy the fruits of our labors with simple gratitude.  So today, let us go forth and try, let us accomplish what we will, but let us be less harsh in our judgement, and more present in our revelries.  For our creativity we give thanks.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

We pray for consolation from disappointment.

We pray for cessation of grief.

We pray for restoration of home and self.

We pray for security of loved ones.

We pray for our lives.

We pray, and we are grateful.

Today we continue the journey of recovery.  Seems a path we are always on, and it is so.  For life is a process, with wholeness as the destination.  Living gives us the ingredients of that wholeness, so as long as we live, we continue to bake.  Recovery comes from pushing to the limit, and returning stronger.  So let us engage fully in our collective recovery, making us ever stronger, ever deeper, ever more whole.  We are thankful.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

Rain falls like tears from the sky, marking the sadness in our hearts.  We are reminded just how unable we are to tide the course of Nature.  We are ultimately at its mercy, and perhaps that is how it should be.  We are saved from our own hubris, and stand in awe and reverence in the face of a power greater than ourselves.  It is Majesty and Mystery.  By definition, it is God, and we stand humbled.  We are grateful.  Blessed Be, and Amen.
