Day 192

Here’s to reuniting: with loved ones; with forgotten dreams; and with lost ambitions.  Coming and going is the natural cycle in life.  Returning to our ancestral homes after long absences can be both comforting and disorienting, and even sometimes disappointing.  And yet, it is goo to reconnect with points past, seeking new reference to how far we’ve come, and all we’ve accomplished.  May today be a reuniting day, that we may find unity within ourselves and throughout our lives.  For returning we give thanks.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

Day 191

May this day find us as gardeners and farmers, tending our crops of compassion, love, and understanding.  For the attributes of fulfilled living must be cultivated and cared for, just as the crop and the flower will not flourish if left unattended.  We must become horticulturists of the heart. We must prepare the soil of the soul before planting the seed.  We must irrigate with our tears, and be vigilant in weeding out the pettiness and impatience that would choke the young seedlings.  And if we follow the practice of the agronomist, our bountiful harvest will feed the world, clothe the poor, and fuel the light transforming darkness into glorious day!  So join us at the farmer’s table, eat and be nourished, for our toil and care has made this feast possible!  For the food of the soul we give thanks.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

Day 190

Let us rejoice for no other reason that the pure ecstatic pleasure of it.  Let us find positive attributes where before we saw only negatives.  Let us adjust our own attitudes, attenuating them to the power and spirit of love that surrounds us.  Let us relax where before there was tension.  Let us lean into our discomfort rather than avoid it.  Let us know ourselves honestly and humbly.  Let us recognize in each other our perfect imperfection.  Let us simply live the day in the fullness of experience and sense and feeling.  It will then be a good day.  We are grateful for another opportunity to simply Be.  It is Blessed, and Amen.

Day 189

‘Luck’ is a confluence of an infinite number of random events resulting in a favorable conclusion for an individual.  ‘Wishing’ is an unfounded hope for an outcome with no basis on merit or enterprise.  And yet, we wish each other good luck all the time.  Let us spend less effort ‘wishing’ and invest rather in ‘creating.’  Let us not rely on ‘luck’ as much as we rely on ‘action’ to fulfill our vision of an ideal state.  May we put our energies into fostering wholeness within ourselves, that we may then in turn have all the requirements necessary to create action that will bring our aspirations into reality.

Yeah, good luck with that!

For luck, fortune, destiny, fate, and conspired living, we give thanks.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

Day 188

Often we are admonished to ‘count’ our blessings.  The intent is pure, and the practice sound, but it is a solitary endeavor, without considering the world around us.  May we, this day, begin a practice of creating blessings.  Bless our families.  Bless our work.  Bless a stranger.  Bless those that serve.  Bless those that are served.  Soon, there will be so many blessings around, that to count them would be futile.  There is no scarcity for blessing opportunities: may we create a world of abundant blessing and grace.  Let it be said – Make your blessings!  For bountiful blessings, we give thanks.  Blessings Be, and Amen.

Day 187

How do we keep the ‘routine’ out of our routines?  How do we make each day, and indeed each moment fresh and unique?  Let us today look for texture and contour in our activities.  Let us seek something new in the people we encounter.  Let us discover a new fact about their lives or their families.  And let us take this new information, and process it to see what we might discover about ourselves.  Be open to our senses, for they create the world in which we exist.  For new information we give thanks.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

Day 186

Synchronicity: apparently it is all around us.  We live in an age when we are expected to be in-sync, on-line, and connected.  How do we do this?  What is the magic alchemy that instantly synchronizes our lives?  And once we’re in-sync, are we good to go?  Will we remain in the flow, moving harmoniously with the All?  Unlikely.  So here is our prayer: may we move in the natural motions of our lives, aware that there are infinite cycles in the universe, some of which will be in sync, others not.  May we be present to our our own rhythms, mindful that we are at peaks when others are in valleys.  To be in a state of Grace is to be fluid within these cycles, to be in sympathy even when we are not in sync.  May the turbulence simply tickle our stomachs.  For the tide of life we give thanks.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

Day 185

Today is a day of returning:
Returning to center;
Returning to wholeness;
Returning to awareness;
Returning to goals;
Returning to love;
Returning to humility;
In other words,  returning to home.   For home is more than a roof and for walls;  home is where we live our lives,  where we find love,  and where we ultimately find ourselves.   And so for journeys and for returning,  we give thanks.   Blessed Be, and Amen.

Day 184

Tranquil, peaceful morning!   The splendor of the miracle of creation is manifest.   Birdsong,  rainfall, Sun-breaking through popcorn clouds.   Duke Ellington serenades as pancakes rise in campstove.  All is well.   For simple, quiet mornings we are thankful.   Blessed Be,  and Amen.
