Day 102

May today find us rested, healing, and ready to discover what will unfold in the Now. The next moment is a mystery, always full of both danger and opportunity, in equal measure. How we respond will be determined in the moment that has just passed. If we are truly present in THIS moment, we are simultaneously processing the THEN, and preparing for the WHEN. There’s nothing for it but to marvel, and lean into our living. Breathe in the future; breathe out the past. And in that brief interim, while the breathe is held, Be Here Now. And don’t worry if you miss it: the next breathe is right there! For lungs, the crucible of our Being, we are breathlessly grateful. Blessed Be, and Amen.

Day 101

Change is all around us. Indeed, it is the rule rather than the exception. We often consider transitional events in our lives: a movie that we recognize as ‘changing’ us, or a concert or a service. Something in the confluence of words, sounds, emotions, and infinite developmental triggers are the source of the change. In reality, everything that happens to us in our living changes us. It follows, then, that everything we do and say also changes the world. There is no telling what ramifications our actions will have. May our spiritual practices inform our words and deeds, that we will, in fact, be the change we wish to see in the world. For mindfulness we give thanks. Blessed Be, and Amen.

Day 100

May this day be filled with pleasant distraction. May the world surprise us today. A child-like sense of wonder can be the single most powerful medicine for angst and ennui. Until we ask ‘what if,’ we do not know what is possible. Patterns are the rule rather than the exception; they make a world that is predictable, reliable, and safe. They also create a static reality, lacking in innovation and insight. So may we rekindle our senses of awe, amazement, and uncertainty, that our lives will be dynamic, creative, and joyful. For curiosity and playful enthusiasm, we dance and do somersaults. Blessed Be, and Amen.

Day 99

Today is a great day to celebrate! The miracle of dawn is manifest, bringing light and energy into the world. Accomplishment and opportunity in equal measure are our blessings this day. Collective wisdom and mutual support are measured out in abundance. To be sure there are struggles and sufferings to temper our elation, but we also have deep wells of compassion and courage with which to address them. So let us enter today in awe and reverence of the miracle that is Us, and joyfully together abide and celebrate the simple blessings of our lives. For all we are, and all we may become, we are grateful. Blessed Be, and Amen.

Day 98

May this day find us in the place we need to be. May we find new spiritual guides in our quest for wholeness. May we discover the Truth, although it will only be one small piece of it. May we look into ourselves, and see that we are Enough, even in our incompleteness. May our introspection bring us not fear or dismay, but rather a sense of wonder that we Are at all. May we look outward and recognize all others as further manifestations of Us, which is to say, God. Simply put, May we, and We may. For this day we are happy and grateful. Blessed Be, and Amen.

Day 97

“For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.” Perhaps, but it might also be said that for every action, there is a magnified and forward re-action. Our interconnectedness is manifest in subtle and sublime ways. We cannot know how one small act on our part will ripple through our community, how it will expand outward beyond our perception, and affect persons unknown to us. So may our actions always be mindful, and filled with loving intent. We must cultivate the virtues of patience, compassion, and inner-peace, that they may in turn inform our smallest acts. Like ripples on the water, what we do will flow out in all directions, lifting boats and lapping shores of which we’ve never dreamt, nor will ever know. May our actions be righteous and grounded in love, through all the days of our Be-ing. We are grateful for this interconnected web of existence. Blessed Be, and Amen.

Day 96

Today is the day to breathe deeply, square-up our feet on the ground, and face the world with tender resolve. We are called into Being with each new dawn. So many expectations are placed on us, from those around us, and from within. It is now the time to lean into those expectations, and to make what we will of them. Some will be met, others will go unfulfilled. To be resilient is to flow and adapt, to rise again, not admitting defeat, but rather finding new opportunities to excel. And the world is ripe with opportunities. May this day offer us infinite chances to shine, learn, and grow. Success and failure are irrelevant constructs: the engagement is all. We are grateful today for the blessing of resilience. Blessed Be, and Amen.

Day 95

May we today be introspective of where we’ve been and all we’ve accomplished. Our focus tends to be out in front, when we have focus at all. Always striving, always achieving. And yet, it is the work we’ve done, the people we’ve loved, and the places we’ve been that have brought us to this moment. So let us today reflect on the wonderment of the journey so far. Let us delight in it, mourn the departed, recall the failures, and humbly take pride in our accomplishments. Tomorrow will arrive, unbidden. Our yesterdays are the treasure we’ve found along our adventure. May that be enough for today. For our all we’ve done and who we’ve become we give thanks. Blessed Be, and Amen.

Day 94

From time to time we prove ourselves to be our own worst enemies. We may commit the sin of procrastination, or perhaps overindulgence. Perhaps we fall off our exercise regiment, and to make matters worse, we internalize the guilt. In our efforts to support the other people in our lives, we often fail to support ourselves, a sin of omission. May we this day be reminded that we must practice self-care, in its many faceted forms. May we do the simple things, and those more complex, that re-orient us along our path, that we will return to wholeness. For spiritual medicine, we give thanks. Blessed Be, and Amen.

Day 93

A prayer of simple comfort: May we move through this day with ease. May we make our own paths smooth and level. May we have an even temperament and a calm demeanor. May we be in the flow when conflict arises. May we be brokers of peace. We create the realities in which we live, and we decide how we respond to the world. May we practice kindness this day, that tomorrow, when we’re not our best selves, someone in turn will be offer us compassion in kind. For gentle practices, we are thankful. Blessed Be, and Amen.
