Write a Prayer-a-Day Project

Let us pray for open-hearted living.  May we feel Big Love abiding all around us, and in us, and through us.  We are here but a short time, and it is up to us to construct the world in which we wish to live.  This is our sole task, and our soul task.  Today let us not think of moving from place to place, or think of lists of finite chores we must accomplish; rather let us feel the fluidity of our energy, ever engaged and ever engaging.  For continual creation we give thanks.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

Ever mindful, we step into this new day, ripe with potential.  Potential for what we do not know, but our practice reassures us that we have the resources to cope.  Let us share all, as we have been given all.  Life is beyond sufficient: life is abundant.  May we not forget, and forge on, and continue to adapt, adopt, and improve.  There is nothing else for it.  We are blessed, and we give thanks.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

May we find our prayers answered today:

In a calm breeze;

In a loving embrace;

In a piece of good news;

In a task well finished;

In embarking on a new adventure;

In the mirror;

In breathing in and breathing out.  In moving and seeing and hearing and tasting and feeling.  May All be the answer to our prayers.  We are grateful.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

For all that we are;

For all that we are not;

For all that we aspire to be;

For all that we regret;

For all of our longings;

For all of our disappointments;

For all of our successes;

For all of our failures;

And for all the love we’ve shared, and for all we’ve yet to share, we give thanks.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

Life is actively story-telling and story-receiving, and life lived well holds each in equal parts.  Are we listening as much as we’re talking?  Are we giving as we are receiving?  What can we do to enhance our own story?  And are we appropriately enthusiastic about the story of others?  What we will come to discover in the fullness of time is that it is the SAME story, and we are each, in turns, heroes, foils, protagonists and antagonists.  So live into the story, enrich it and move the plot forward.  For sacred literature we give thanks.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

May we move in safety today.  May we travel in comfort and arrive on time.  Each day is a journey, steps along the Ultimate path.  Some days we travel for pleasure, others with purpose.  Each destination holds its own piece of the Truth, and we must make all the stops along the way.  Each new experience is a sticker on the luggage of our soul.  Our fellow travelers are, at the core, our soul mates – each and every one.  How can we not sing in our procession?!  So today may we be blessed with clear skies, with smooth roads, and a warm wind to our backs.  Be sure and send a postcard when you arrive!  For our travels we give thanks.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

We see ourselves through each others eyes.  We learn of ourselves filtered through another person’s experiences.  We also know ourselves from our inner life, which is also a composite of all of our interactions.  We are very much made up of each other; we are inextricable from one another.  Yet we find it so easy to be critical of one another.  Cruelty is commonplace.  Judgement is rampant.  What are we saying about ourselves when we practice such negativity?  We must begin the process of loving ourselves, which we cannot do without loving each other.  We cannot love each other without first loving ourselves.  The answer is simple: the answer is Love.  The Answer is Love.  The answer to any and every question is Love.  The solution to every dilemma is Love.  The resolution of all conflict is Love.  All you need is Love.  For this Truth we rejoice!  Blessed Be, and Amen.

Today is the day we will make, so may we make the most of it.  We are the Creators, and it is both our joy and our sacred obligation to make this the best of all possible worlds.  Let us begin with gentle stirrings and quiet incantations.  Breathe love into the world, that the air around us is truly sustaining.  Practice patience and compassion, and the earth will bring forth abundance for all.  Create well today – live well today – Be well today.  We are thankful.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

May we remember to share a kind word or a thoughtful action today.  May we hold each other in respect and care, as we would wish for ourselves.  May we recall kindness shared with us in our past despair, and how sustaining it was for us.  We have only ourselves and each other, one and the same.  So do unto others, as so do unto ourselves.  For our universal oneness we give thanks.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

Thanks and Gratitude are two different things: Gratitude is a process and a Way, thanks is immediate and specific.  Gratitude requires thanks, but not thanks alone.  Let us begin our practice of Gratitude with a prayer of Thanks:

Thanks for friends, both old, new, and as yet unmet.

Thanks for energy and purpose.

Thanks for our sentience.

Thanks for the sun rising and setting.

Thanks for the love that surrounds us.

Thanks for all that sustains us.
