Day 63

O, Wondrous Family – a prayer for separation and deliverance. Our lives are entwined, woven in the tapestry of humanity. I am the warp, and you are the weft. Now we are together, now we are apart. I cross over you, you pass under me. I am magenta, you aquamarine. Together we are strong, united, complex and durable. Alone I am sturdy, capable, independent and resilient. I am enough; We are complete. Our pattern is incomprehensible, and infinitely beautiful. For looms and spinners, for the weavers and the woven, we rejoice! Blessed Be, and Amen.

Day 62

We encounter many obstacles in the course of our living.  Physical and emotional obstacles, or financial, or spiritual.  Each has its own inherent challenge, and those challenges attack us at our core.  That is the nature of obstacles, and why we dread them.  How we choose to deal with them, however, is what defines us.  Bravery, fortitude, dedication – all attributes we might hope to muster in meeting these barriers.  Let us also conjure our compassion, our trust, and our faith in meeting the demands of this moment and the next.  Obstacles are not always to be conquered; sometimes they must simply be navigated, with grace.  For meeting all our obstacles with our best selves forward we give hopeful appreciation.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

Day 61

We are, each of us, the mirrors by which we see and know ourselves; we are distressed when our reflections are unrecognizable. Is it because we truly don’t know ourselves? Is it because the mirror gives a distorted vision, due to its own cracks and imperfections? Yes, and yes. Life is a process by which we gain little glimpses of larger truths. A life well spent is one in which we acknowledge the imperfections within us and around us, and in each other, and accept them, knowing they’re not the whole story. A life well spent may not always find it easy to celebrate these blemishes, but is aware that a gem is less precious without its facets. Contour and texture are our touchstones this day. For wisdom to navigate the rougher edges of life, we give thanks. Blessed Be, and Amen.

Day 59

A prayer for our children, the promise of the future.  May we uphold our promises to them.  May we lovingly guide them, while honoring their need to make their own choices, and even their own mistakes.  May we protect them, without stifling them.  May we be stewards of Earth’s resources, that they may enjoy abundance.  May we strive for peace and justice in their names.  May we love them unconditionally, and cherish their souls.  For our children we offer our deepest gratitude.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

Day 58

Glorious dawn of deliverance! Transition and transformation are abundant. Winter’s deep slumber begins to awake with the rebirth of Spring. Our own inner-hibernation begins to awake to possibilities and the promise of new life. May we be open to the change, embrace it as it envelopes us. May we seek new and creative opportunities for broad and deep metamorphosis. As we emerge from our inner-season of quiet reflection and meditation, let us burst into the possibilities promised by this new day. For change, and for new prospects, we give joyous thanks. Blessed Be, and Amen.

Day 57

May this day bring recovery and restoration. May our pains be salved. May our hurts be healed. May our broken relationships be restored. May our deep regrets and repressed emotions find voice in this healing prayer. May each of us become the agents of aid and comfort to those who’ve not found their voice in prayer. May the eternal waters of compassion and comfort minister to us, this day, our day of renewal, our day of re-birth. For resilience of spirit, mind, and body we are grateful this day, and all our days. Blessed Be, and Amen.

Day 56

A prayer for our Elders: May we age with Grace. May we find Dignity in our waning years. May we have loving care providers. May Society honor us. May we know safety and security. May we have proper nourishment. May our health care providers be diligent and sensitive. May we be comfortable. May we be warm. May we maintain an active and engaged awareness. May we be surrounded by love. May we be thoughtful. May we carefully inventory our memories. May we prepare. May we pass in peace. For the generations that have come before, and especially for the our immediate Elders, we give loving thanks and blessings. Blessed Be, and Amen.

Day 55

A simple prayer for a simple life. The vastness of our existence is complex enough. The Tao Te Ching states that the Tao that can be described in words is not the Ultimate Tao. In the west we might say the God that can be described in words is not the Ultimate God. And as we are collectively the composite components of God, it follows that the Life that can be described in words is not the Ultimate Life. May we, therefore, embrace simplicity, wonderment, and awe, and continue to create our Ultimate Selves. For Truths too large to comprehend, we offer our reverent gratitude. Blessed Be, and Amen.

Day 54

The paths of our lives are numerous beyond count, leading to destinations we are yet to know. Our journeys may be literal, just down the road. Other expeditions are of the spirit, on the road to enlightenment. Many a twist and turn on this quest, and the destination is uncertain, but the path is righteous. And there are the sojourns of the psyche, upon the roiling sea of emotions. Our navigators must be intrepid and courageous here, if we hope to moor in tranquil ports. In each of these odysseys though, the instruments are the same: we must monitor our speed; we must be mindful of our fuel; we must know our compass and map; and we must respect the traffic around us. For exploration of uncharted courses, we stand in awe, and give humble thanks. Blessed Be, and Amen.
