The Great Caper of Being

The act of living is risky business: we feel so much is at stake with every decision made, that often we are rendered inert by indecision or fear of failure.  May we find the confidence to move forward, secure in knowing that we have each other as help-mates, co-conspirators in the Great Caper of Being.  The plan won’t always go as drafted; indeed, the pratfalls and miscues are often the richest deposit of treasure, even when the currency is in embarrassment or shame.  Confidence, my friends!  Stand up, dust off, face forward, and begin again.  The loot is right around the corner, just waiting for us to come along and claim it.  For “Crimes” of Humanity we give thanks.  Blesséd Be, and Amen.

Spiritual Navigation

Behold!  Life is lived in perception, intuition, and vulnerability.  We react accordingly and move on, over and over and over again.  We are beholden to our perceptions, and yet our experience has taught us that those intuitive senses are not always trustworthy.  Spiritual re-calibration is the purpose of our practice, to discern the world around us with deeper empathy, old wisdom, and infinite compassion.  May our inner-instrumentation guide us on a righteous path of purer understanding as we pilot our way through life, lifted in love and boundless in potential.  For holy navigation we give thanks.  Blesséd Be, and Amen.

Tranquility Now

We live in an anxious world.  Everywhere we turn anxiety seems to be the rule rather than the exception.  It is a condition that is self-perpetuating, festering and fomenting in the fragile psyche of all our systems.  Our prayer is to become the agents of Calm, considerate and thoughtful in action and in word.  Let contact be our practice, whether it come in the form of a timely hug or a non-judgmental ear.  Tranquility Now is our mantra – we are competent, grounded, assured and assuring.  Bless the world with your calming balm, be the spiritual salve that brings Tranquility Now into this moment and the next.  For inner and outer calm we quietly give thanks.  Blesséd Be, and Amen.

We Belong

We belong.  We have been here since the beginning of time.  We are made entirely of the universe.  We will never leave.  We belong.

We belong.  I am me as you are you as we are they and we are all together.  We constantly trade essential pieces of each other through the essential act of breathing.  We belong.

We belong.  In our infancy we first become aware of who we are through social interaction.  By connecting with others we understand that we are whole within ourselves.  We belong.

We belong.  We are not Nation, we are not Specie, we are not Race or Religion.  We are Universe.  We are Multiverse.  We are Beginning and End.  We Belong.

For our deep sense of belonging we are eternally and infinitely grateful.  Blesséd Be, and Amen.

Generosity

Today may we cultivate our Generous spirit.  Generosity is one of the simplest practices to adopt for it merely asks that we give of ourselves.  A smile, a listen, a helping hand, a compassionate shoulder – everything positive begins with small acts of generosity.  This practice is not transactional – there is no expectation of a service or certificate in return.  And yet this compassionate capital is the ultimate investment we can make in ourselves and each other, for by making generosity our daily practice we begin to change the world in all that we do.  May we generously bless the world, and find we are generous in our gratitude.  Blesséd Be, and Amen.

The Blesséd State

Bliss…Nirvana…Enlightenment…are we any less if these blesséd states seem unattainable?  The true tragedy is believing that these are the only blesséd states.  To be nourished is to be blessed.  To be loved is to be blessed.  To be independent is to be blessed.  To be housed and clothed and warm is to be blessed.  To be known by others it to be blessed.  We are all blessed, simply by being.  How we choose to bless the world is up to us.  For our blesséd condition we give thanks.  Blesséd Be, and Amen.

Active Living

The day unfolds, and we wait for something to happen.  On our best days, we’re waiting for something wonderful or miraculous.  In dark times we’re waiting for the other shoe to drop, for the diagnosis to come back.  Yet waiting is a passive verb.  Let us fill our time with active living: to engage, to revere, to bless, to invite.  What happens to us each day relies heavily on chance; how we react to each day is entirely within us.  May we cultivate our own resilience and grace so that we live fully into each moment on our own terms, fully vulnerable and utterly beautiful.  For active living we give thanks.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

Pure Imagination

What we imagine is just as real as what we experience – our brains don’t differentiate between the two.  Why not develop our imaginations as a spiritual practice?  Visualization Meditation.  For until we imagine the lives we wish to lead and the world in which we want those lives to unfold, we will forever inherit a world incomplete and unfulfilled.  So come with me, and you’ll be in a world of pure imagination…  May we Imagine the promised land, that then we may create it.  We are thankful for Imagination.  Blessed Be, and Amen.

Patience

If patience is a virtue then sainthood is one customer service call away.  How often are we called to practice patience in our daily lives?  True Patience, however, must be something other than checking out while we wait for the train to pass.  The virtue of Patience must become a deep spiritual practice.  First we strive to obtain inner-patience, knowing always that we are works in progress, works that will take a lifetime to complete.  When we recognize this in ourselves, we begin to understand that others are no more perfect than are we.  We are called to accept others as we find them, patient in the knowledge that they are still baking, still congealing, on the road to perfection.  When we virtuously practice patience we will find ourselves and each other in a state of Grace, from which Love and Compassion then may follow.  May we be Virtuous in our living today.  We are patiently grateful – Blessed Be, and Amen.

On the Matter of Matter

Longing and Hope; Faith and Compassion; Connection and Ultimacy: we are spiritual beings, and we perceive that we live in a physical world.  What if the reality of matter is equally spiritual in nature?  What if physical presence is merely a manifestation of a higher ethereal incarnation?  As we move through our days, let us never be entirely certain of perceived essence; rather, let us feel beyond, to ultimate relationship, to the Holy in Everything.  Surely then will we walk a righteous path.  For our extra-senses we give thanks.  Blessed Be, and Amen.
